Conscience is looking for someone who would like to learn about a variety of tasks undertaken by an NGO.  We are primarily looking for a candidate who is outgoing and would like to gain experience campaigning in the peace sector. This intern should be willing to attend peacebuilding events, network with people in the peace sector and the public, as well as monitor peacebuilding and government policy in the press. Approximately one third of the intern’s time will be devoted to research, admin and other activities.

A significant part of the role will be focusing on promoting and building interest in our events series that we hold every month. Experience of promotional tools such Meetup, Reddit, Facebook and Twitter would be an advantage as would some experience sourcing and collaborating with VIPs. Applicants with some experience of organising events are particularly welcome to apply. Good communication skills as well as good writing skills and an excellent grasp of the English language are a must.

Specific knowledge of or a willingness to find out about military expenditure, non-military security and conflict prevention would be an asset. Previous experience of political campaign work will be an advantage. This position is voluntary so the applicant may set their own hours but it is recommended that to get the most out of this opportunity applicants commit to two days per week for a period of approximately six months. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed including travel and lunch.

Candidates should email a CV to Campaign@ConscienceOnline.org.uk or phone the office on 0203 515 9132 for more information.
